Mr. O'Neil lived many years with only his dog as a companion.
One day Mr. O'Neil was heartbroken to find his dog had passed on from old age.
He went to his parish priest and asked if a services could be said for his dog.
The good father said "oh no, we do not perform services for dogs here, but the new church down the road might be wiling."
"Father, do you think a donation of $50,000 might be enough?" asked Mr. O'Neil.
"Well man, why didn't you tell me your dog was a Catholic!"
